Being cast as Pip was a huge honour.
We actually have a lot of similarities between us.
Pip is a blacksmith’s apprentice and my father is a Farrier.
I have experienced (on occasions) what life would have been like as a labouring boy out on the “marshes”.

Pip dreams of becoming a well-educated gentleman and this becomes a reality.
In my modern day comparison I embarked on University and studied Literature.
Therefore performing as Pip has rather been quite an emotional experience because of these slight similarities.
Two boys entering the adult world in search of themselves.

This was my ‘debut’ for the Swan Theatre Company and I must say that I have been extremely impressed with level of professionalism.
The company are amazing and everyone plays a vital role in portraying Pip’s journey.
This will not be my only performance at The Swan Theatre Company.
They have well and truly hooked me and in Magwitch’s words “I’m here for good”.
